Is The Messiah That The Hebrew Bible (Tanakh) Talks About, Jesus Christ?

Today we are going to see how the Old and New Testament go hand and hand and how they line up perfectly. I Know, especially for Jews, it's hard to understand. Some religions believe we just made up the New Testament and that the only part of the Bible that was truly inspired by God is the Old Testament. I hope I am able to tell you how both the Old and the New Testament are inspired of God and that they actually DO go hand and hand.

If you start in the very beginning of the Bible, it says in Genesis 1:26 -A, "And God said, let us make man in OUR image after OUR  likeness". I know from research that most Jews believe there is only one God and that there can not be more than one according to the Shema in Deuteronomy 6:4-9, and Numbers 15:37-41. But in Genesis it says it so clearly that there is three parts of God. Yes, there is one God, but he is in three different parts of God: God the Father, God the Son, And God the Holy Spirit. Isaiah 9:6 states, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a SON is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, THE MIGHTY GOD, THE EVERLASTING FATHER, the PRINCE OF PEACE.".  Psalms 51:11 says, "Cast me not away from they presence; and take not they HOLY SPIRiT from me". He is in three different parts but miraculously is still one. It's impossible to explain but you just have to take it by faith and what the Bible says.

Some more examples that the Old and New Testament are true and go hand and hand are, the Old and New Testament both show descendants from the tribe of Judah. Genesis 49 :10 says, "The Scepter shall not depart from JUDAH, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be". Luke 3:33 (Jesus's genealogy) says, "Which was the son of Aminadab, which was the son of  Aram, which was the son of Esrom, which was the son of Phares, which was the son of JUDAH". Revelation 5:5 states, "And one of the elders saith unto me, weep not: behold, the lion of the tribe of JUDAH, the root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof".

Noah is mentioned in the Old and New Testament. Genesis 6:8,"But Noah found grace in eyes of the Lord". Hebrews 11:7, "By faith Noah being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith".

Abraham is mentioned in the Old and New Testament also. Genesis 12:1 says, "Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and they kindred, and from the thy fathers house, unto the land that I will shew thee". Hebrews 11:8, "By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and went out, not knowing whither he went".

Proof that The Messiah already came, in the Old and New Testament.

The Messiah (Jesus) will be born in Bethlehem. Micah 5:2, "But thou, Beth-lehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall He come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose going forth have been made Old from everlasting". Matthew 2:1, "Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be born of a virgin. Isaiah, 7:14 "Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel". Matthew 1:22-23, "Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophets saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted God with us".

There will be killing of the innocent in Bethlehem. Jeremiah 31:15, "Thus saith the Lord; a voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not". Matthew 2:16-18, "Then Herod, when he saw that he mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken of Jeremiah the prophet, saying, In Rema was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not".

The Messiah (Jesus) will flee to Egypt. Hosea 11:1, "When Israel was a child, then I loved Him, and called my son out of Egypt". Matthew 2:14 and 15, "When he arose, he took the young child and mother by night, and departed to Egypt. And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, out of Egypt have I called my son".

The Messiah (Jesus) will preach in Galilee near the Jordan River. Isaiah 9:1, "Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations". Matthew 4: 12-16, "Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee; And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias (Isaiah) the prophet saying, The land of Zabulon and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be despised and rejected by men. Isaiah 53:3, "He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised and we esteemed him not". John1:11, "He came unto His own, and His own received Him not".

The Messiah (Jesus) will triumphantly enter Jerusalem on a donkey. Zechariah 9:9, "Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass (donkey) and upon a colt the foal of an ass (donkey).". John 12:13-15, "Took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet him, and cried, Hosanna: Blessed is the King Of Israel that cometh in the name of the Lord. And Jesus, when he found a young ass (donkey). sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Zion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass's (donkey's) colt.".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be betrayed by one of his own. Psalms 41:9, "Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me". Mark 14:10, "And Judas Iscariot, one of the twelve, went unto the chief priests, to betray him unto them".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be sold for thirty coins of silver. Zechariah 11:12, "And I said unto them, if ye think good, give me a price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty pieces of silver". Matthew 26:15, "And said they unto them, What will ye give me, and I will deliver him unto you? And they covenanted with him for thirty pieces of silver".

The price will be refunded. Zechariah 11:13, "And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord". Matthew 27:6-7 "And the chief priest took silver pieces, and said, it is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter's field, to bury the strangers in".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be judged, but kept silent. Isaiah 53:7, "He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth". Matthew 26:62-63, "And the high priest arose, and said unto him, answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee? But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, The Son of  God".

The Messiah (Jesus) will suffer for others. Isaiah 53: 4-5, "Surly he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we  did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted". Matthew 27:28-29, "And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and reed in his right hand: they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him saying, Hail, King Of The Jews".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be crucified with evildoers. Isaiah 53:12, "Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors". Luke 23:32, "And there where also two other malefactors, led with him (Jesus) to be put to death".

The Messiah (Jesus) took our infirmities and bare our sickness. Isaiah 53:4, "Surly he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God and afflicted". Matthew 8:17, "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken of Esaias (Isaiah) the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses".

The Messiah's (Jesus's) hands and feet will be pierced. Psalms 22:16, "For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet". John 20:27, "Then he (Jesus) said to Thomas, reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be scorned. Palms 22:5-6, "They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.". Matthew 27:40, "And saying, thou that destroyest the temple, and buildest it in three days, save thyself. If thou be the son of God. come down from the cross.".

To drink they will give the Messiah (Jesus) vinegar. Psalms 69:21, "They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink". John 19:29, "Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar and put it upon hyssop, and put it in his mouth".

None of The Messiah's (Jesus's) bones shall be broken. Psalms 34:20, "He keepeth all his bones: not one of then is broken". John 19:33-36, "But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs. But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his (Jesus's) side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things where done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken".

They will cast lots upon The Messiah's (Jesus's) garments. Psalms 22:18, "They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture".  Mark 15:24, "And when they had crucified him, they parted his garments, casting lots upon them, what every man should take".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be buried in a rich mans tomb. Isaiah 53:9, "And he made his grave with the wicked, and the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth". Matthew 27:57-60, "When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus' disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged for the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he rapped it in a clean linen cloth. And laid it in his own new tomb, which had hewn in the rock and rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be Resurrected! Psalms 16:10, "For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell; neither wilt thou suffer thine holy one to see corruption". Matthew 28:5-6, "And the angel answered and said unto the woman, fear ye not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay".

The Messiah (Jesus) will be ascended up to Heaven. Proverbs 30:4, "Who hath ascended up into heaven or descended? Who hath gathered the wind in his fist? who hath bound the waters  in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, what is his son's name, if thou canst tell?". Psalms 68:18, "Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men: yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them".  Luke 24:50-51, "And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and lifted up his hands, and blessed them. And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven". Acts 1:11, "Which also said, ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven".

When Jesus comes back for the Jews in his second coming to set up his Kingdom, the Jews will look on him, whom they've pierced, and will weep.

Zechariah 12:10, "And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitances of Jerusalem the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, as shall be in bitterness for his firstborn". Zechariah 13:6, "And one shall say unto him, what are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends".

Examples that the New Testament is true by how the Bible repeats itself in the Old and New Testament.

Psalms110:1, "The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool". Matthew 22:44, "The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool"?

Satan requoted psalms 91. Psalms 91:11-12, "For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone". Matthew 4:6, "And he (Satan) saith unto him (Jesus), If thou be the son of God cast thyself down: for it is written, he shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone".

If you think about it, a lot of Old Testament stories are pointing to Christ as well. Joseph was sold for silver and was rejected by his brethren, like Jesus was. Jonah was in the whales belly for 3 days and nights, like Jesus was in the tomb for 3 days and 3 nights. Even Hosea, he had so much love for his wife that even after her cheating on him,  he still bought her back with all he had, just like Jesus buying us back on the Cross, because he loves us so much, even though we have and continue to betray him.

If you would like to read more on this subject, I will leave a few chapters of the Old Testament, that talk about Jesus and what he was going to do on the cross. I would put the whole chapter in here but that would be a 500 page blog then LOL. here are the chapters you can research yourselves: Psalms 22, Daniel 9,  Deuteronomy 18, And Isaiah 53. BTW, did you know the reason as to why Jews are not aloud to read Isaiah 53? It's because the 17th century Jewish historian, Raphael Levi, admitted when him and other rabbis, were reading the chapter of Isaiah 53, they had arguments, and great confusion arise, that it was too closely related to Jesus being the Messiah. That's why they stop today at Isaiah 52 and pick back up at Isaiah 54. They said that they could not let the other Jews read that chapter of Isaiah 53 or else all the Jews would become Christians. The rabbis used to teach Isaiah 53 was talking about the Messiah. Isn't that interesting?

If any of you are asking if The Messiah has already came then why didn't he set up his kingdom? Well, no one can enter into the kingdom if they have sin. On the Jewish Holiday, Yom Kippur, a chicken is offered to take away sins (Kapparot). A chicken CAN NOT take your sins or even a lamb. A lamb used under the law in the Old Testament was actually supposed to be a sign to the Jews that they can't save themselves nor can a lamb. It's impossible. They need  Jesus Christ, the Messiah, to take away their sins. The lamb was only meant to cover their sins until the ultimate sacrifice came, which is Jesus. Only the precious blood of  God can take away your sins. An animal is never perfect, nor has a human ever been or will be perfect. Only the perfect Son of God, Jesus Christ, can take away your sins. He is going to come back one day to set up his kingdom. When he came the first time it just was not time for his kingdom yet, but soon it will be!

I will end with a verse from Luke 24:44. "And he said unto them, these are the words which I spake unto you,  while I (Jesus) was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the Psalms, concerning  me".
