Are There Different Types Of Men? - Part 1: The Visionary Type Man (The Man With The Dreams And Idea's)
Are there different types and personalities men have or are all them all the same?
God tell us in the beginning of the Bible that he created men in his own image. "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness" (Genesis 1:26) What exactly does God's image and likeness mean? The word OUR is plural. Why did God refer to himself as more than one?
Do you know what the word LIKNESS means? When you look in the mirror what looks back at you is your likeness. Just like that, God created men in his likeness men are a reflection of God. When God refers to OUR likeness in the Bible, it means God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, as we learned in my last blog. The Bible says that one God is in three persons.
God created men in his image. Well which image? All three types of course. God's relation and ministry is different to us with each person of the Godhead. Your husband or husband-to-be will fall into one of these three categories. He will either be like God the Father a take charge person, or he'll be like Jesus kind and a peacemaker, or he will be like the Holy Spirit a man of ideas.
When you can identify a man expressing one of these three traits it will help you understand men better. There never has been or never will be a man balanced in all three, It's impossible. Now it is possible to have a little of all three in one man but there is always a more dominate side. We must accept them as they are just like our husbands or husbands-to-be has to accept us just the way we are even though we will never be perfect. If men had all three balanced he would be the perfect man but we all know sin got in the way and now there can never be anyone perfect. The only man balanced with all three types was Jesus and probably Adam but after Adam sinned it most likely became not balanced. Anyways back to the three types.
This week I am going to explain how the man made in the Holy Spirit's image (I will call these guys visionary men since they can invision) will act and then in the next couple of weeks we will explain the other types.
The Visionary.
God is a visionary as seen in his person, earlier the Holy Spirit. God made some men in the image of this part of nature. As a man gets into his late twenties or early thirties his type will become more pronounced, the visionary man will be shakers, changers, and dreamers. the best word to describe them is visionaries. They see what can be or should be and seek to change things.
The visionary man is a voice crying out in the wilderness striving to change the way things are done, or change how humanity is behaving or thinking. Visionary men type are street preachers, political activists, and instigators of a front line social issue. They love confrontation and hate the status quo. They think Why leave it the way it is when you can chance it? These men keep the rest of the world from being dull. They have a high need to communicate with words, music, writing, art, or actions.
Good-hearted prophets are a lot of fun! they are never dull. they are very emotional and love to share their feelings.
If these guys are not balanced though, they can get to focused on one project. To the world their projects may seem to be weird. You will hear them go on and on about issues like, why or why not you should celebrate Easter, why do we go to the doctor? Should we vote? What was Paul thinking when he wrote the book of Romans? Should we move to the middle of nowhere? They may be extreme in their separation from the world.
These men can have tunnel vision, focusing on one single issue. They can drive certain types of people crazy!
Of all three types the visionary man will be the most likely to want to please his wife
In conclussion, if you marry a visionary man learn to enjoy the trip for if he ever makes a better light bulb he will want you to be the one who turns it on for the first time, it will be your face he looks into to see the marvel of what he has done.
When you know your man needs you, you can be happy with anything.
The visionary man will make a great boyfriend because he will only focus on his girlfriend. He will be very romantic, giving you gifts, if you end up getting a visionary man his greatest consuming passion will be you.
A few weeks after you and Mr. visionary marry though his thought will go back to his projects. It is important for girls to understand this great truth regardless of what type you marry. You should have a life, full of doing stuff before your man comes along. A wife that lacks goals, purposes and drives is useless. Don't be offended when your visionary man focuses on other projects instead of you. Although your visionary man may be destracted by projects, he will enjoy you helping him make his projects and helping them come true. We as girls have to remember we will not get flowers everyday as if you where dating, but you will be his side-kick buddy helping him in all his projects and when you have accomplished something together, then he may take you out to ice cream or get you some flowers in celebration of the accomplishments you have made together. As a wife you will have to be ready to ooh, and ahh when he shares envisions with you. When he does turn his attention back on you every girl will be jealous for you have the most romantic man.
The upside of a visionary is his creativity and tenaciousness in the face of difficulties.
The downside is that they can be foolish men who push their agendas to go their way.
If you marry one of these men you will need to learn to do these things to be a good helpmeet
1. Learn how to be flexible
2. Learn how to be loyal to your man
3. Go with the flow
4. Know he will need you support
5. Learn to enjoy the trip
6. One of his greatest needs will be for his wife to think objectively and use common sense
7. Try to stay in a positive state of mind, but don't jump to much into his fantasy land
8. Every wife no matter what type you marry will have to guard against negative conversations, but especially with the visionary man.
9. His wife will needed to listen, be supportive, and be his cheerleader.
Do You think you would go good with a visionary man?
Next week we are going to take a dive into how the steady man (The one made in the Godhead of Jesus) behaves and what his purpose is, so stay tuned.
